AGHD

Meaning

Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency (AGHD) refers to a clinical condition characterized by insufficient secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland in adulthood. This deficiency results in a specific constellation of metabolic and physical symptoms, distinguishing it from childhood growth hormone deficiency. The condition is often acquired due to pituitary tumors, cranial irradiation, or trauma, though idiopathic cases exist.
