Age-Related Physical Decline

Meaning

Age-Related Physical Decline is the gradual, progressive deterioration of physiological function and structural integrity across multiple organ systems that occurs as a natural consequence of biological aging. This decline encompasses a reduction in muscle mass (sarcopenia), decreased bone density (osteopenia/osteoporosis), diminished cardiovascular reserve, and a general attenuation of metabolic and immune responses. Clinically, this manifests as reduced strength, impaired mobility, slower recovery times, and increased vulnerability to chronic disease.
