Adverse Drug Reactions

Meaning

Adverse Drug Reactions, commonly known as ADRs, represent any noxious and unintended response to a medicinal product that occurs at doses normally used in humans for prophylaxis, diagnosis, or therapy of disease, or for the modification of physiological function. This definition intentionally excludes instances of therapeutic failure, drug abuse, or accidental poisoning, focusing specifically on the inherent, often unpredictable, pharmacological effects within standard clinical use.
