Adrenergic Receptors

Meaning

Adrenergic receptors are a class of G protein-coupled receptors located on cell surfaces. These receptors bind catecholamines, such as adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine), mediating diverse physiological effects of the sympathetic nervous system. Their activation initiates intracellular signaling cascades regulating bodily functions.
