Adrenal Fatigue

Meaning

A non-medical, popular health term describing a collection of non-specific symptoms, such as body aches, nervousness, sleep disturbances, and chronic tiredness, which are attributed to chronic stress overwhelming the adrenal glands. Clinical endocrinology does not recognize “Adrenal Fatigue” as a standalone diagnosis, preferring terms like HPA axis dysregulation or secondary adrenal insufficiency for clinically verified conditions. This concept highlights the pervasive impact of persistent stress on overall well-being and energy production.
