Adrenal Fatigue Myth

Meaning

This term refers to the scientifically unsupported, non-medical diagnosis used to describe a collection of non-specific symptoms such as persistent tiredness, body aches, and nervousness, often attributed to chronic stress overwhelming the adrenal glands. Mainstream endocrinology does not recognize “adrenal fatigue” as a legitimate clinical entity because the adrenal glands possess significant functional reserve and rarely fail outside of true medical conditions like Addison’s disease. Patients experiencing these symptoms typically have underlying conditions that require proper differential diagnosis.
