Adrenal Adenoma

Meaning

An adrenal adenoma represents a benign, non-cancerous growth originating from the adrenal gland, a small endocrine organ positioned above each kidney. These growths are frequently small and often discovered incidentally during imaging studies performed for unrelated medical concerns, a finding termed an incidentaloma. While many adrenal adenomas remain hormonally inactive, some possess the capacity to produce hormones in excess, leading to distinct clinical syndromes that require careful assessment.
